Builds and maintains every calculator on this site

Fintool Baba is run by Samir K., a web developer who began building financial calculators to answer his own everyday money questions. What started as personal tools for understanding EMIs, loan prepayments, and monthly finances gradually became a platform designed to help Indian users make informed financial decisions.

While many financial calculators already existed, they were often spread across different websites and varied in features, ease of use, and the level of detail they provided. Fintool Baba was created to bring practical financial calculators together in one place for Indian users.

One example is the Loan Prepayment Calculator. It grew out of Samir's own experience evaluating EMI reduction versus tenure reduction while repaying an education loan under the Canara Bank Vidya Sagar scheme. The calculator available on Fintool Baba today is based on that original idea and has been refined to help others make similar decisions.

Research assistance and initial article drafts may involve AI tools. However, every calculator, formula, interest rate, tax slab, and factual statement is manually reviewed against official government publications, RBI guidelines, Income Tax Department resources, or bank documentation before publication. Content is reviewed and updated whenever relevant rules or regulations change.

The Problem We Set Out to Solve

Try calculating a home loan EMI on an international website and the problem becomes obvious. The figures are in dollars, the tax assumptions do not apply to India, the interest rate inputs do not match what RBI-regulated banks actually offer, and there is no mention of GST, Section 80C, or the new tax regime. You end up doing half the work yourself anyway.

Fintool Baba was built to close that gap. Every tool here uses Indian financial products, Indian tax laws, Indian rupees, and Indian earning realities. Whether the input is ₹15,000 a month in a tier-3 city or ₹2 lakh a month in a metro, the output is meant to reflect that specific situation.

We are not backed by any bank or financial institution, and no advertiser or partner influences what a calculator outputs or what an article recommends. Like most free websites, we earn revenue through advertising and links to financial products, but that revenue never determines what a calculator tells you.

Indian Rupees Only

Every figure, example, and calculation is in rupees and reflects Indian financial conditions.

Editorially Independent

No advertiser or partner can change our calculator formulas, tax data, or article recommendations.

Making Financial Clarity Accessible to Every Indian

India has over 500 million working-age adults, most of whom have never had access to a professional financial advisor. Fintool Baba cannot replace a CA or a registered financial planner, but it can make sure you walk into that conversation already knowing your numbers.

Financial Education First

Every article and tool is written and built with one question in mind: will a first-generation investor in Patna or a salaried employee in Coimbatore actually understand this and be able to use it? If the answer is no, it gets rewritten.

Accuracy Over Everything

Financial regulations in India change every year. Tax slabs, repo rates, FD rates, NPS rules, all of them are tracked and updated after every Budget and RBI policy review, so results are never based on last year's rules.

Mobile First for Bharat

Over 70 percent of Indian internet users access the web on a smartphone. Every calculator here is tested on budget Android phones and loads quickly even on slower connections. No app download needed.

Your Data Stays With You

Every calculation runs entirely inside your browser. Salary, loan amount, or investment details you enter are never sent to any server.

We Take Accuracy Seriously So You Do Not Have To

In personal finance, a wrong number can lead to a wrong decision, and a wrong decision can cost real money. Every calculator on Fintool Baba goes through a verification process before it goes live. New tools are built using standard banking formulas, then cross-checked against actual bank calculators. Income tax results are verified against the official IT Department's tax estimator, and FD results are compared against bank websites.

Articles go through a similar process. Every figure cited, whether a tax slab, an interest rate, or an investment return assumption, is traced to its source. When regulations change, the relevant tools and articles are updated rather than left to go stale.

Fintool Baba is an educational platform, not a registered financial advisory firm, and that is stated clearly on every page. Use these tools to understand your options, then verify the final figures with your bank or advisor before committing to anything.
